code.gushue.net ~ welcome
This page is going to be dedicated to all of the little hacking/coding projects I've worked on over the years. Some are still being kept up to date, others have been all but abandoned. A lot of those I'd really like to continue working on, but I just don't have enough time in the day to do everything I want. It's taken long enough even to get this site up and running :)
First off - the Google ads on the pages. It's something I started for the MARP Forums, and seems to be giving decent results. Hosting isn't free (anymore), and I'd like to offset costs as much as I can. And I like the Google ads, because they are unobtrusive being just text. And sometimes even somewhat relevant. Except for the anti-Linux ads from Microsoft, which are somewhat amusing. Some of the pages here get a fair number of hits each day, mainly the Geek Code Generator and Mutt config files pages. If ads bother you, I'd suggest getting Mozilla Firefox and the Adblock extension, which lets you easily block such things. I use it myself.
This site will probably also be a testing ground for new ideas I have. Currently, that's involving using Markdown for formatting, and completely seperating content from style. It's working out rather well so far. Next up on the list are proper form-based logins, instead of HTTP auth logins. It's something I want to use with bplog, which is going to be renamed to bs.post, and actually developed again. As soon as myself as Niv find the time.
So browse around the various pages on this site using the navigation links at the bottom of each page. Not everything is here yet, but hopefully soon. If you have questions or comments or whatever, just fire off an email to me at chris@gushue.net. And for less hacking-type stuff, visit http://gushue.net.
